Us 5 lug Tacoma owners really get the short end of the stick. The 6 lug 4WD trucks all got a decent 4 piston brake setup, whereas our rotors are almost the same size as the Camry! Within millimeters! This issue is compounded for X-Runner guys, especially with boost on top.
From the success of our brake kits for the RWD Lexus cars (GS, SC, LS, etc), we have adapted and implemented a similar complete bolt on kit for the 2005-2015 Tacoma 2WD trucks, including X-Runner, excluding PreRunner. All 5 lug trucks.
Calipers are sourced from a 2007-2020 LS460, LS460L, LS600h, and even the new LS500 4 piston fronts, RWD non-sport package K17 style (not N18). We typically source brand new OEM Lexus/Advics.
We typically prefer the Posi-Quiet Centric/Stoptech pads, as they have excellent street performance and are not unnecessarily loud/squeaky once properly bedded in. Other options are available as well, if you prefer.
For discs, we use off-the-shelf preferred Centric/StopTech 2008-2014 IS-F 360mm (14.1 inch) rotors, not the C-TEK ones. They come cross drilled from the factory (just like the IS-F rotors are), though we have other bolt on options as well if you're going for a different style or preference. We've not heard of any issues with rotor cracking like some other aftermarket applications have reported.
Please note this upgrade is meant for off road use only. Proper installation is required, and all safety precautions should be heeded. You will need 18" wheels to fit. Stock X-Runner wheels do fit
