We've seen it first hand. Age and heat from the engine bay harden these over time, eventually leading to cracks and leaks. Since these are post MAF, your ECUs wont compensate properly for the metered air leaking out, making your car run rich and no longer perfectly smooth. Eventually they'll need to be replaced entirely, so it's best to stick with all original OEM Toyota parts!
