For some, this is the first and more important part of a build. For others, it's the last stop once everything else has been finished. One thing is for sure: the exterior of your car is easily the best place to show off your tastes, artistic talents, and make a statement, even if that statement is "eh, I don't really care." Some exterior parts have purely functional applications, some are just to look cool, but most parts are somewhere in between. There may be no better way to personalize a car and really make it "yours" than exterior modifications.
