Your engine and how much power it makes is entirely useless without having a way to put that power to the ground! These important parts determine how quickly you get up to speed, how much traction you have, and how well it all holds together. In our opinion, one of the most important and engaging parts most enthusiast/driver's cars should have is a manual transmission. Many of the best engines out there today are not offered with one from the factory, so we step in and offer solutions!  

Simply put, the transmission's job is to keep the car as much in the engine's RPM powerband as possible throughout any speed. The differential then splits this power to the drive wheels.

There are many different ways this is done on various cars, between FWD (front wheel drive, transverse mounted sideways engine typically, no driveshaft, more compact, mostly self contained differential/transmission combo), RWD (rear wheel drive, longitudinal mounted engine, usually followed by transmission, driveshaft, differential to split the power to the drive wheels), and AWD/4WD, which pushes power to all 4 wheels in very different ways.

You can think of the drivetrain as the legs of the car. They're important for heavy lifting and (of course) going fast. Their most important job is to hold up the rest of the build and stay together. XAT has been ahead of the curve with bringing affordable but strong drivetrain options to keep the power at the ground, and not using it to rip itself apart!

  • GKTech Shifter for CD009/JK Series Nissan 6 Speed Transmission

    The V2 GKTECH Z33/Z34 transmission shifter relocation setup has been designed as a bolt on solution when fitting these transmissions to S and R chassis Nissans (although may fit others) and not having the shifter sit back 6" too far. Our shifter setup sits just 85mm (3-11/32") from the rear of the bolt holes on the back of the transmission. 

    Designed from scratch with over 200 hours spent modelling, prototyping and testing we are happy with the final result. This design DOES feature reverse lockout.


    - CAD designed
    - No OEM parts required to fit this to the rear of a Z33/Z34 transmission
    - Features reverse lockout
    - Shifter sits just 85mm from the rear of the bolt holes on the back of the transmission
    - Thread for shifter is M10x1.25 (same as S13/S14 SR20 Nissan and many others)

    NOTE: Does require cutting of the rear selector shaft (very easy to do with a hack saw blade or cutting disk)
    NOTE #2: Will not work with transmission yokes larger than the OEM Z33 yoke at 90mm in outside diameter.

    Does this shifter have reverse lockout??
    Yes, it was easier to make a version without it however after racing without the reverse lockout I quickly discovered the need for it. 

    Will this suit a Z34 transmission?
    We have now test fit on a Z34 transmission and can confirm it fits.

    Will this suit a Z32 transmission?
    No the Z32 transmissions are completly different to the Z33/Z34 and they won't work at all.

    Are any other parts required to get this shifter to work?
    None of the OEM shifter related parts are required. Everything needed to install the shifter on to the transmission is required.

  • 80 series Rear Differential Lock Actuator OEM Toyota Land Cruiser

    After 25+ years of off-roading, mud, dirt, grime, sand, rust, road salts, etc., you may be having issues with your factory triple locked Land Cruiser or LX450 engaging the electronic e-lockers. Fortunately these are still available OEM new, without paying $875+ for the Toyota box! We only use OEM Toyota parts for anything and everything where we can, as nobody built a better 80 series than Toyota themselves!

    You'll need to check your truck to see what the specific issue is, as replacing this alone might not fix your locking issue.

  • OEM Toyota 80 series Land Cruiser Differential Lock Knob Triple Locked Diff Switch

    Is your triple lock knob getting crunchy, yucky, or just worn out? Good news, these are still available new, and quite affordable! Ours has seen better days, so we decided to replace it with a new one. Very easy, simple, straightforward replacement.

    Or, you could always just put one in a truck to replace the blanking plate, to make you feel better, or try to fool someone else into thinking you have a triple locked truck.

    Please note that if you do NOT have a triple locked K294 axle code Land Cruiser, you will need much more than this to convert your diffs using factory parts.     A differential/axle breather serves the important purpose on a 4WD vehicle of venting the air pressure in drivetrain assemblies such as the differential, transmission and transfer cases. Many drivetrain assemblies are fitted with a breather from the factory. These factory breathers are usually a one-way valve mounted directly to the housing or remotely on a short tube. There are many short comings to this style and the ARB Differential Breather Kit is designed to eliminate these by providing a high flow, zero back pressure, zero vacuum breather system. The kit is intended to replace your factory breathers and contains enough fittings and tubing to connect at least two drivetrain assemblies. More tubing and push-in fittings can be purchased separately to connect up to four assemblies to the central manifold.

  • GM AR5 Solstice Sky Trans Output Flange Adapter

    This adapter was designed for the Solstice/Sky AR5 transmission to be able to use a much stronger drive shaft with 1310 or 1350 u-joints, rather then the stock GM CV joint. Includes bolts needed for the transmission flange and the drive shaft flange. The 4 bolt flange pattern is for a 1350 size GM flange yoke.

    We can build you a custom driveshaft to use an AR-5 transmission with this adapter in ANY vehicle.

    This adapter fits the Dana Spicer 1350 series 3-2-119 flange, or the 1310 series 2-2-479 flange. Typically takes about 1 week to ship.
