This is a full scan of Hyper Rev issue volume 29, published July 1998, which is the 2nd in the series of Supra specific lineup. 235 full color, full size pages, all scanned, ready to view! The full file is almost half a gigabyte, and this project took us over 5 hours to complete, plus we had to buy (and destroy) an issue shipped from Japan to properly scan. As such, this is in unaltered original Japanese. Both Mk3 (A70) and Mk4 (A80) cars are in this issue!
You will receive a digital PDF for your order, not a hard copy. While it is very cool to have hard copies of these issues, we like being able to quickly and easily zoom in on different parts, not have to worry about dirt or smudges, and we find them easier to translate via real time translation apps if it's on a screen with ample lighting.
While it would be nice to have a full translation for every page, there is no easy and effective way of doing this, and no way to guarantee the translation is correct. Check your smart phone for free translation apps! Google and Apple both have one that we find to work quite well. As far as we can tell.

The JB4 is the most advanced and highly featured tuning system available for your Toyota Supra Mk5. Power gains are up to 80hp to the wheels (100hp crank) on a completely stock car on pump gas for a B58, gains with bolt-on parts, higher octane, E85 mixtures, and larger turbos are even higher.
The JB4 features a simple plug and play installation harness for easy installation & removal and includes many features not found with any other tune. Including on the fly in dash map switching between factory and various performance maps, optional in-dash gauge displays for boost, boost limiting by gear for improved traction in lower gears, progressive water/methanol support, built-in data logging, built-in code reading, optional direct EWG control to prevent throttle closure with exhaust modifications, exhaust flapper control, and much more. Other more expensive tuners may claim to equal the JB4's technology but upon closer examination lack most if not all of the JB4's features.
Remember the JB4 does not require any additional modifications or previous stages. Simply install the JB4 as your first and only modification and enjoy an entirely new fast and smooth racing experience. The JB4 also does not require any user setup or customization but for those who are interested in logging, adding new features as we post them, etc, we suggest the BMS DATA cable or REV3 mobile phone adapter.
Note we have not developed the in-dash commands yet for the JB4 Supra. Until then a JB4 mobile adapter or BMS data cable is required for any map and setting changes.Wirelessly connect the JB4 to your Bluetooth 4.0 compatible iOS and Android device via the JB4 Mobile connect kit, or to your Windows laptop with the BMS data cable. Both options allow you to record and analyze vehicle and tuning data, change JB4 performance maps, and update JB4 firmware as we release free newer versions with updates, more powerful maps, and new features under development. Separate JB4 Mobile app purchase also required.
JDM 2JZGTE Supra Front Pipe Decat Downpipe RHD test pipe
We are now stocking the very hard to find stainless steel 304SS front pipe (cat delete)! As you probably know by now, none of the full downpipes we have on our site fit on the JDM Supras, so we had these built.
These are designed specifically for RHD 2JZGTE Supras (non VVT-i) and eliminates the first catalytic converter. It is custom mandrel bent of 76mm diameter tube, flanges laser welded, O2 sensor port machined and fitted then machine polished.
It comes complete with gasket (upper) and new bolts. Expect a 20-30 HP gain (depending upon boost levels) with this front pipe cat delete for the Supra. It helps free up the exhaust, which is critical, but also if you delete both CATS on the JDM cars, then you are a candidate for runaway boost and lack of boost control. With a front pipe, single CAT delete, you will not over boost those ceramic turbos that come standard on the JDM 2JZGTE Supras.
There's a built in flange for the O2 sensor as well! Gasket for that is also included.
Great bargain, simple install and makes power, period. These are very hard to come by, so please buy when you see they are available. We are one of the only Supra businesses that has these on the shelf, at all times!

We are proud to release our in house high flow catalytic converter for the 1986.5 to 1992 Toyota Supra with 7MGE or 7MGTE engine, in 3" diameter! This is a true flanged bolt-on design which is a direct replacement for the factory CAT as you can see in the photo. Expect an increase of ~5% in power and a quicker turbo spool. These are bolt in versions. We also sell the weld in version in the downpipe/exhaust section. We use stainless for these, as shown. These are 49 state legal. Not legal in California.
You will need to measure your existing cat to make sure we send you the right version, either 11 inches or 12 inches. Please let us know at the time of ordering the measurement yours is, as these are made to order in each case.

PHR Radiator Overflow for 1993-1998 Toyota Supra MkIV JZA80
Finally an overflow you can be happy to have in your engine bay! The PHR Radiator Overflow for the MKIV Supra tucks in close the the headlight, making room for 4" intercooler piping or a full size battery to fit up front (PHR will soon be offering a battery tray to fit a group size 26 battery, stay tuned). No more tucking ugly plastic overflows and pretending it's not an eyesore. The PHR overflow features a CNC Formed aluminum tank body with a billet cap. Please keep in mind this MkIV Supra chassis specific fitment. It is not meant for similar chassis' (SC300/Soarer) without modifications.
Installation notes:
Hose from radiator should attach to the bottom port on the overflow tank. The top port can just vent or can have a spillover hose run underneath the vehicle. If running hose please do not let the spillover drain in front of the tires.
The PHR Radiator Overflow is not designed for use with a OEM size (Group 24) battery or the OEM battery tray. The PHR Radiator Overflow is perfectly paired with a PHR Billet Battery Tray or PHR Battery Relocation Kit. If you would like to retain a OEM size battery, you will need a new battery tray.

PHR MkIV Supra Rear Adjustable Traction Bars SC300 SC400
PHR's Adjustable Rear Traction Bars are a great solution for those looking for that edge over the competion. These bars are recommended for Drag Racing, Circuit Racing, and even perform well on street cars.
In drag racing, the trac bars can help to eliminate wheel-hop as well as change the spindle angle so you can set your ideal launch and down trac geometry. In addition, preload increase or decrease and improve reaction times and forward push increase out of the hole as well as contribute to control of front end lift and rear end squat.
In circuit racing, the trac bars help to eliminate wheel-hop in corner entry and can inprove bite on corner exit. They can improve vehicle response to driver input by eliminating the squishy factory bushing and allow full adjustablility for helping to adjust your suspension geometry.
Street cars can take advantage of all of the above stated benefits, but will have more road feedback into the chassis as the factory bushing is eliminated and vibration transfers more easily, although most people may not notice any difference.
The PHR Adjustable Trac Bars are made from swaged steel tubes and are knurled for adjustment grip. The Rod end is of chomoly 2-piece contruction for durability and our clevis end is tig welded and gusseted for strength.
We feel like the PHR trac bars are the best anywhere and are proud to offer it for the Supra and SC300 Platforms.

JS Alternators also requires their universal Big 3 wiring kit, or otherwise similar wiring upgrades in addition to the factory wiring in order to handle the higher output. The big 3 Wiring upgrade is an ADDITION to your factory wiring.
All factory connections need to remain connected. For protection, it is recommended to add an in line fuse to the positive wire. All grounds must be cleaned to bare metal and properly secured.Big 3 wires are 1/0 gauge pure copper cables. 1 positive to connect from the positive stud on the alternator to the positive battery terminal. Other 2 ground wires go from the alternator mount bolt to frame/chassis, and negative on the battery to frame/chassis.
Most JS Alternators are custom built to order and typically take 5-15 business days to be built and shipped. All JS alternators have a lifetime warranty on labor, and 1 year warranty on parts.
Hairpin units are commonly called 6 phase. They produce more output at idle and are more efficient than a conventional alternator. JS Alternators hairpin units feature premium bearings to withstand high engine rpm and utilize dual plate rectifier with 12 heavy duty diodes for improved cooling. Hairpin Units are a more reliable alternator to withstand high heat, high demand for car audio, marine, and racing applications.

PHR MkIV Supra Adjustable Rear Upper Control Arms SC300 SC400
he ever-popular PHR Adjustable Upper Rear Control Arms are a must-have item for any serious road-racer or drag-racer. Even with the slider turned all the way in, the Supra is designed to run with at least -1 degrees of rear camber. While this may be good for basic street driving, it tends to eat up the insides of tires and is the opposite of what you want for drag racing and straight-line acceleration.
For drag racers, you are able to adjust the rear camber up to +10 degrees, allowing the tire to come into 100% contact as the car squats for launch. This gives you full contact patch with the pavement and the most traction possible from your setup.
For road racers, you can thread the knuckle in to achieve up to -10 degrees of camber if desired.
These high quality rear control arms are hand-made from 4130 chromoly and TIG welded to ensure the highest strength and integrity possible.

Watch Andy show off his pipe. Impressive! With a girth of 3 inches, his pipe offered by hand will absolutely make you smile! This is an in house made XAT part, hand welded on a jig, and factory replacement fitment with no modification needed--for your pleasure.
You will need to measure your existing cat to make sure we send you the right version, usually either 11 inches or 12 inches roughly. Please let us know at the time of ordering what yours measures out to be. It is important to get the correct length the first time to avoid further issues.
What is a test pipe?
Simple. A test-pipe is used to replace the catalytic converter on cars to "test" if the cat as clogged or not and will verify for you. Simple bolt-in performance product with only 4 bolts (can be obtained at any hardware store if not reusing the factory ones). Excellent bang for the buck performance. Test pipe can be used with various downpipes for total CAT elimination (catalytic converter), or it can be used with a factory exhaust or aftermarket exhaust as well.

In drag racing applications, traction bars can help eliminate wheel-hop as well as change the spindle angle to allow you to set your ideal launch and down track geometry. In circuit racing applications, traction bars help to eliminate wheel-hop in corner entry and improve bite on corner exit. They can also improve vehicle response by eliminating the squishy factory bushing.

SupraSport 1JZ 2JZ Engine Girdle Kit with optional Custom Age CA625+
The girdle kit includes required ARP hardware, and fits any 1JZ or 2JZ engine, GE or GTE! What is it for? A girdle will remove 'swing' in the main caps. The swing in the block will be most in the middle of the engine. The girdle will also act as a partial windage tray. This girdle is compatible with all 1J and 2J engines and all sump types.
If you are using the OEM main caps, the girdle will rest on them. Your engine shop/builder should machine the provided spacers to the exact same height. If using billet main caps, you can let the girdle kit have a tiny amount of space from the caps, but spacers may still require modification to fit.

For those Supra owners with an after market clutches (especially hydraulic throw out bearing clutches), especially those on 3 and 4 disc Tiltons (any clutch for that matter) and you suffer from a clutch master cylinder that is barely getting the job done, this is a great after market direct bolt-in solution. This is mandatory for anyone with a UZ V8 doing a CD009, R154, or W58 swap as well! Does not include clutch pedal.

How do I know my clutch master cylinder is barely getting the job done? If engagement is nearly at the floor on your heavy duty aftermarket clutch, chances are you master cylinder is trying everything it can to produce the pressure to make the clutch engage/disengage, but it's struggling.
We have done all the engineering for you so swapping your OEM Toyota master cylinder for the Tilton master is plug and play. If you are considering this swap I can recommend it and if you decide to do it you are crazy not to get this setup, as it will make your life that much easier.
Remove the factory master cylinder and install the Tilton master cylinder with the adapter kit, so its a direct plug-n-play on the MKIV Supra, add oil, bleed the clutch and you're good to go.
This will improve clutch pedal action, travel, engage/disengage on any after market clutch assembly and is mandatory on any after market clutch that uses a hydraulic throw out bearing on their twin, triple and quad disc units.
The kit will replace the factory 5/8” clutch master with a Tilton 3/4” master cylinder. This piece is mandatory for Tilton 4 disk users and highly recommended for Tilton 3 disk users.
Can also be used with other clutches with similar benefits.

We at XAT have developed an intermediary brake kit that slots just below the LS460 big brake kit that we sell! As we've discovered, the LS460 brake kit combo requires a minimum of 18" wheel, and some 18"s also will not fit. It's easy to recognize the fast growing popularity of JDM vehicles we grew up loving now being imported, as we have a hand in doing that as well!
This kit is specifically designed to use MkIV Supra TT rotors, meaning you only need 17" wheels to clear these brakes, giving an extra option for those looking to keep with period correct wheels and wheel sizes. Although we dont have a complete list of every wheel this kit will fit, if you suspect the LS460 kit may be too big for you, this is a terrific alternative, using OEM quality and Wilwood brand parts!
The steering arm and caliper may need to be modified on your setup to fit this brake kit, depending on application, if youre not using an angle kit. This had to be done on our zenki '89-92 UCF10 Celsior to fit, as well as our '96 Crown JZS155. Expect similar requirements on X90s and early X100s, likely on GS/Aristo as well. We have provided pictures of where we had to modify the caliper to fit.

Factory new steering racks are no longer available for these cars, however Toyota themselves do offer rebuilt units! These racks are rebuilt by Toyota themselves and are the best option on the market. Don't waste time and money with cheap no-name rebuild kits, get original parts and another 25+ years out of your Supra!
